  2. We have funded and driven the creation of this Otakou website. One of our whanaunga, Paul Potiki has designed it and it is also a work in progress but we are all happy with it so far. It gives us the chance to connect with our whanaunga and our whanaunga with us, far and wide.

  3. We are working towards getting a Korowai Project off the ground. The making of one of our Otakou korowai with a Master weaver- Roka Cameron.

We have had interest from a few people in the project but we are very keen on 5 committed people to a 2 this year project. It will take a year to prepare the harakeke and a year to create. Please contact Moana at: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you are interested in more information.

  4. We are working through a new Catering brief for hui on the marae which will mean different prices with menus and more explanation for incumbent ‘Noho Marae’.

  5. We have run a number of wanaka for our tamariki over the past years and intend on promoting some Wanaka this year, watch out for those in the E-panui and on the website. We provided funding for Otakou members and tamariki to attend the closing of the Ngai Tahu Exhibition at Te Papa in 2009.

  6. We funded and organised for a hui on Kawa at Otakou at the end of 2009 and brought down Aunty Koara and her daughter Robyn from Nelson.

  7. Portobello School
