In July, Te Rūnanga received the CEO report, and also discussed the prospect of Hui-ā-Tau/Hui–ā-Iwi; confirmed External Organisation Representation and reviewed the governance and operation of various Te Rūnanga committees and processes.

Te Rūnanga received the CEO report dated 27 May 2011. In this report it was noted that Ngāi Tahu Holdings Corporation (NTHC) business and assets are fully re-insured with the exception of earthquake and related damage whereby brokers were only able to underwrite 60% cover in Christchurch and Canterbury. OTAKOU TRONT REPRESENTATIVE REPORT Kia ora tatou
Please find below a fairly comprehensive outline of the decisions taken by Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu since February.
It is fair to say that the business of Te Runanga is still disrupted and it is important to remember it has only been ten weeks since the earthquake and they have continued to be plagued by serious aftershocks in Christchurch.
The last two meetings have been held in Dunedin and the next meeting is scheduled for Invercargill.

This is a brief email to acknowledge the great contribution whanau have been making to enhance the experience of Mo Tatou, the Ngai Tahu exhibition at Otago Museum.

This past week in particular has been ‘full on’ with whanau from Waihao on the job as kai manaaki during the week, the panel discussion on Thursday night, followed by Rock Art related korero & activities on Saturday and a delicious taste of Kai Tahu kai on Sunday.

HMNZS Otago Visit

HMNZS Otago Visit

The HMNZS Otago made its first visit to Dunedin, arriving on the morning of Thursday 22nd July. A welcoming ceremony was hosted by Dunedin City Council, Otakou & Puketeraki Runaka and waiata support was provided by the tamariki of Te Mua Upoko ki Portobello.
This was an exceptional opportunity and all involved contributed to upholding the mana of the respective Runaka.

As seen below, the tug, Karetai assisted the Otago into her Birth, the koha from Otakou explained the origins of the name Otago.
